CAE Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled CAE Engineer – Battery Systems to join our advanced engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and simulating 1D multiphysics models of battery cells, modules, and packs to evaluate and optimize their electrical, thermal, and life cycle performance. You will play a key role in building equivalent circuit models (ECM), designing thermal management strategies, and performing battery degradation analysis under real-world usage scenarios.

Job Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop accurate electrical equivalent circuit models (ECM) for battery cells and modules.
• Build thermal models to simulate heat generation, dissipation, and thermal runaway risks.
• Create and manage 1D system-level models combining electrical and thermal behavior.
• Simulate battery cycle life and aging under different operating conditions.
• Develop and implement derating algorithms based on thermal and electrical constraints.
• Analyze charging and discharging profiles to assess impact on performance and life.
• Validate simulation models against experimental/field data and refine parameters.
• Optimize battery thermal management strategies (cooling concepts, airflow, materials).
• Provide design recommendations based on simulation outcomes to improve system reliability and performance.
• Document simulation methods, assumptions, results, and recommendations clearly.
• Participate in knowledge sharing and support team members on simulation best practices.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements in modeling techniques and workflows.
